    During my morning reading time I came across a quote I love and I'm going to share it with you. It reminded me of how I felt when I started my freedom business nearly 13 years ago. Back then, I gulped down information for like 6 months. Anything I could get my hands on. Good information on starting a business was a bit scarce, but I gathered it all. I was excited about all I was learning, but I was getting desperate. I still hadn't made any money. But I felt like I knew A LOT! If I could go back to that time I'd give myself this quote and message: "To get what you want, you have to deserve what you want.     As I've mentioned before, I get a lot of response to this daily emails. It may seem like it's a lot of negative, since I use the trolls to teach you lessons, but I get a lot of love too. Some people enjoy these daily ramblings so much that they decide to keep watching them even after they join the Freedom Club. Check out the Success Mindset on Blu. First Reply: "Oh my god, YES!     This morning I was reading a book that had a chapter on self-efficacy. In that chapter it talked about the 4 aspects of confidence. Under the second aspect, called Vicarious Learning, I realized where my grandma got her most used saying. My grandma would say, "If someone else has done it, you can do it too. If no one else has done it, you can be the first!" She said that to me MANY times throughout my life, mostly when I was little. When you're little, you just believe your grandma, why wouldn't you?! As I got older, I wondered where she got that quote, if anywhere. I think I figured it out. In the Vicarious Learning section of the book, I saw several quotes that could very well have been the inspiration for her most said quote.     I got another email I want to talk to you about. It’s from a VIP Freedom Club member, my favorite type of person, so I thought I’d address it here. My comments will, of course, be after the email. “...Jeremy seems awfully angry these days, so I figured I'd reach out to you… I was kind of joking about Jeremy although it's definitely a switch in tone from pre-everyday emails. Mostly I like it. Sometimes it feels strange. Like he's trying on a persona.     One of the big, positive outcomes from having a successful freedom business is you can create the lifestyle you want. Do anything you want during the day. Stay up as late as you want. Wake up when you want. Create value when you want. Be around who ever you want. I've done it all since my freedom business took off back in about 2006 (I started in 2004, but it took a while to learn about designed my lifestyle.) That was when the money made it so I could really live a "free" life. The spontaneity was fun for a while, but then things changed. I changed... I never thought I'd say this but I love routine. I have a very specific routine now. I now choose to get my "work" done right when I get up. It can take about an hour or two, then I have the rest of the day to do what I want.     Normally, when you get asked this obvious and persistent question it's pretty easy to answer. What do you do for a living? I'm a lawyer. I'm chief sandwich maker. I'm a professor. I'm President of the United States. The answer’s simple for most people. When I first started this journey to building a successful freedom business, I didn't know what to say. The answer was always slightly awkward. Since, "What do you do for a living?", is such a constantly used question I fumbled around for years with the answer. Basically, I was selling information, but most people don't understand that that is a thing. "I sell stuff online." Back in 2004, this answer seemed to lead to people thinking I was somehow into porn or I was doing spam. "I have an eBay business." This answer seemed to make people think I was going to yard sales, buying other peoples used junk, and selling it on eBay. "I'm a cubicle escape artist." This one would get a grin, but mostly I'd see the thought, "Fine, don't tell me..." Once

    As I mentioned recently, I sold my home and gentleman's farm. What triggered me to sell my "dream" home? Lifestyle design. I always wanted to try the gentleman's farm, but with a big modern home. I did, done. I also wanted to pair down Internet Business Mastery and instead of having 10 huge funnels going and a bunch of employees and a bunch of tasks to do constantly, I pared it down to an email a day and ONE full-time employee. Simplify and minimalism is the lifestyle I'm trying now. This is GREAT news for you. This is why I put ALL over our courses and bonuses into the Freedom club and I only charge $1 a day for it ALL. Lifestyle design. The other part of my recent lifestyle design is starting a new business. Keep in mind, I don't suggest you create more than ONE business when you start out.     My life changed the day I watched the movie, the Matrix. I saw it in the theater back in 1999. In fact, I watched it twice in one day and another 3 times in the theater. It seemed like they made the movie for me. No really, I had the creepy feeling that the filmmakers were making movie just for me and where I was in my life. It was eerie. Generally, it's about a bored, office dweller at the point of nihilism that is searching for the truth about life. Boy, does he get it. His world is rocked. It ends up being 1000 bigger than he ever imagined. I was a bored, office dweller too. Like Neo, in the movie, I felt there was more. I felt I was stuck. Life wasn't a movie, it was life, but I wanted something big.     I’ve been seeing an annoying trend recently. To be different and “edgy”, I see a lot of people saying that finding your purpose and building a business around it is NOT the way to do it. They say that you should simply find a good market and that is really the only thing to think about. I see a LOT of people saying this now like it’s the new “cool” thing to say. I think that’s stupid. Let’s see what a world famous psychologist that created the Maslow’s hierarchy of needs has to say about the subject after spending his entire career on the study: “The most beautiful fate, the most wonderful good fortune that can happen to any human being, is to be paid for doing that which he passionately loves to do.” ~Abraham Maslow I think I’ll stick to a world-renowned expert rather than an edgy newcomers trying to get attention by being contrarian.     A couple weeks ago I asked a question. “What the hell is holding you back?” I got a LOT of responses. Here is one, but it is the big daddy of responses. It’s one that I think everyone thinks, no matter what other issues they might have. Here is the response and my tough love comment after: “Im afraid of failing and losing money.” ~Cartlon --Here comes my one two punch, ready? 1- There are only two ways to fail. Quitting and not starting. By not starting, you ARE failing. You shouldn’t be afraid of failing in the future, you already are failing RIGHT NOW by not putting your all into starting a freedom business. If you start and decide you are going to keep going UNTIL you succeed, you will never fail. Succeed or die, that is what I decided when I got started.     About 15 years ago, while sitting in my cubicle office, I realized something horrifying. I realized I had fallen into a trap. I was bored and unhappy with most of the day. This was not supposed to be my life. I'd drive 45 minutes to a job that was only 13 miles away from my house. I'd sit in my cubicle office on Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles, California, bored. The day was going to be long and just like the last. After about 10 or more hours I'd drive home, it'd take about an hour to get through those 13 miles to get home. L.A. traffic, ya know... I might make it home in time to kiss my young daughters good-night, if traffic wasn't too bad, or they'd be asleep and I didn't even get to see them that day. Then on to the next day... This day would be like all the rest, except my wife and kids would be at Disneyland with my visiting family.     This morning I watched a video about how scientists now have a device that can keep a heart beating perfectly FOREVER! Wa-What? I read about stuff like this everyday. I'm totally a futurist tech junkie. I actually use my personal Facebook feed to see everything I can about biomed, the singularity, transhumanism, AI, robotics, anti-aging, nanotech, biohacking, and more. Because of this guilty pleasure, I got some really crazy looks from a bunch of fellow business owners in the Dan Sullivan Strategic Coaching group I was in. The first task we had in the group was to write down the age we expected to die. Sound morbid? I liked it! After we wrote the age, we all had to say the age out loud one at a time, for all to hear. 78. 84. 87. 152.     When I had decided absolutely to start a freedom business a strange thing happened. I learned about the Value Cycle, (entire video discussing what it is and how to use it is in the Freedom Club), and it lit my mind on fire! I went from having NO ideas on what niche to go into or products or anything specific to 1000's of ideas. It's like the act of deciding I was going to do it FOR SURE turned on something in me. At first, I really liked it. I was a business idea generator. 1000's of business ideas. 1000's of different avatars I wanted to help. 1000's product idea's I had so many business ideas it was hard to sleep. It actually became a bit of a burden. I didn't know which idea I should focus my time on. At first, I decided to pick about 5 businesses and give them all a shot, which I did. It was chaos.     I'm reading a fantastic book again. It's called "Making Hope Happen" by Shane Lopez. One of the main points of this book is that you have to design your future before you can set and achieve goals. Shane calls this Futurecasting. This is such an important idea I added it into the first course in the Freedom Club. Most people miss the specifics of how to do this when they make their goals. Usually, they just pick a goal. Then 6 months later they realize they didn't do anything substantial towards getting the goal. I searched for this book because I found that I was getting only about a 10% success rate on my goals. I couldn't figure out why. I did all the thing you're supposed to do, be specific, set a date, backwards plan, etc. Even after doing it all "right" for so many years, still only about a 10% success rate.     Recently I talked about what seems to be the #1 fear of most people that desire to start a freedom business. Do you remember what it is? If you haven’t heard that episode yet, but you're like most people you just have to look inside for one second for the answer... Most people fear failure. What's the #1 thing they do so they don't have to feel like a failure? They don't go after their dreams and desires! They believe that they cannot fail if they don't try. (Of course not even trying leads to failure 100% of the time...) Getting over that fear is one of the steps to success. Failure is PART of success, so to fear it is to fear success too. I read that most big successes you’ve heard about failed a bunch of times before they succeeded so I welcomed failure and ran towards it. Remember, I said I mistakenly started a bunch of businesses so that many could fail and I could find the one that would worked as soon as possible.     Recently I've gathered a handful of email replies to the podcast episodes I've shot out into the world. Many prompted a deep smirk, so I'll share them with you. My switching to a daily podcast and email model has had a polarizing effect. It's fascinating to think that everyone is seeing the same emails, and hearing the same podcast episodes, but the response is so different. It's like a theater full of people who are looking at the same screen watching the same movie. Yet, one group is seeing an epic, adventure and some, seeing the exact same movie, are having the hallucination of seeing a horror movie.
