Synopsis
This summer, the Jewish community of Uganda will celebrate one hundred years since its founding. After suffering discrimination at the hands of British colonialists and persecution by Idi Amin's regime, the community now thrives as its members examine the significance of their Jewish identity and their connection to the State of Israel. KAN's Joel Carmel traveled to Nabugoya, the village with the largest Jewish population in Uganda, where he spoke to the rabbi and other community members about their history and the challenges they face today.
