Luke 1:26-38 fortells the story of the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ–the greatest story ever told. Mary is met by an angel, Gabriel, who delivers a promise from God–a promise, like many of our own–that seems impossible in her strength alone. “How will this happen?” Mary asked. The Angel’s answer? Simply rest, knowing that if He spoke it, He will accomplish it. Day and night, God’s Word is always working. If God has given you a promise in your life today, follow Mary’s example. Do your part–protect the promise, feed your faith, and place the weight of it on His word.
