Detroiter Joe Maher, like myself is a Detroit Tigers fan. He also is very knowledgable about the Negro Leagues and the Detroit Stars who were in the Negro League. He shares stories about Jackie Robinson, Detroit Stars Norman "Turkey" Stearnes and other notable Afro-American players.Ellen Hill Zerenque, Tigers VP of Marketing is proud of the tribute held each year at Tiger Stadium in honor of the Detroit Stars which I will have an opportunity to attend. The Tigers will also honor Chet Lemon this year as part of the Negro League Tribute.
