Within the last year MA passed legislation granting free, unlimited phone calls for inmates in state and county prisons. Worcester County Sheriff Lewis G. Evangelidis Jr. says the program has gone too far and needs to be revisited as inmates are spending much of their time on the phone, incessantly calling families to the point of harassment. In addition, the program is costing taxpayers a lot of money.
