It is probably safe to say we live in some divided times. You can feel it in our society, communities, and nation. Unfortunately, because we are so divided we tend to group together with those who agree with us and push those who don’t agree further away. This can lead to demonizing, and more division rather than healthy dialogue and fruitful disagreement, but is there another way forward? Thankfully, we have Jesus as our model who was no stranger to disagreeing with others. Jesus lived among those who were wildly different from Him, yet people were still drawn to Him because of the unconditional love and grace He offered to everyone! That same Jesus is inviting us to join Him in the same journey. The heartbeat of Church on the Rock is to help people discover how they can LOVE God and LOVE one another, LIVE with passion, purpose and freedom, and LEAD others to this same experience in Jesus.
