Annex: the saga of a neighborhood and its residents, set outside the fictional port city of Harborview, Oregon in the early twentieth century. Nancy pesters the newly returned Diana Putnam, while Tom, Jane, and Henry face bitter defeat as the Reverend Gaumont eludes justice shortly after dispatching a young financier on a mission against the Pembroke family.
