2teachone 012: Part 2-Good Grief: How to Deal with Grief and Loss?

Informações:

Synopsis

In part two with Allison, we continue our discussion on grief and loss. We discuss what it's like to work as a professional in the mental health field while also experiencing personal grief. We ask what we, or anyone, can do to help a friend or colleague deal with loss, and we offer some basic advice on what it looks like to just "hold space" for someone who is grieving. We talk about milestones in the grieving process and how ritual can play an effective part in healthy remembrance. We look at how an understanding of one's own mortality can play a vital role in understanding how a person grieves and how "survivor's guilt" can color and shape a grieving persons experiences. Perhaps most importantly we reflect on how laughter can be a surprising and necessary step on the path. Join us, and let us know if you want to be a part of our "sad club".
