Saints made the long trip to Anfield and back with nothing to show. A mistake-filled performance against a supremely talented Liverpool side showed why each are where they are in the table. Liverpool have more wins than Saints have points. Saints failed to close down a cross, mark their opposite number on a corner, and help their goalkeeper by coming to clean a shot off the crossbar.
