Synopsis

Todays guest is Laguna Beach's very own Jeff Booth.  Boothy is an ex-pro surfer from the ASP World Tour.  Boothy was one of surfings biggest stars as the world tour shifted into more quality waves in epic locations (this was coined the "dream tour").  Boothy started surfing at age 8 and soon began competing in the NSSA.  Jeff would soon become a very young rising star.  He finished 2nd place at the world amateur surfing championships in 1984.  Jeff would go on to finish again in second place in the Mens division in 1986.  Then in 1988 he joined the ASP World Tour earning the title of "Rookie of the Year".  He was on the Quicksliver surf team with surf legends Kelly Slater and Tom Carroll.  He lived a low profile and earned the title of hard charging, rail surfing traditionalist. While he was on the tour he maintained his rankings in the TOP 10.  While on tour, Booth was no stranger to controversy and ego-centric surfers.  He once wrote a very controversial letter to Surfer Magazine and punched a Hawaiian surf
