The prayers of David fill the spectrum of emotions. David does not hide or hold back in any way. He vividly articulates anger, depression, joy, sadness, longing, exultation, adoration, guilt, remorse, fear, anxiety, faith, hope, contentment, pleasure, and more. David’s knowledge of God included an understanding of God’s knowledge of him. He showed us how to be authentic with God, to accept that God knows us better than we know ourselves, and to let go of pretension, and pray our hearts out.
