Synopsis
Of all of the North American holidays and festivals, Halloween has maybe the most interesting history. Halloween, also known as All Hallows’ Eve, is celebrated every year on October 31. In the past, many ancient people believed that on this night, ghosts were able to return to our world. They started to dress in ghost costumes so that the dead wouldn’t hurt them. Over time, people stopped worrying about ghosts and the dead. Today, Halloween is a time for children and adults to have fun.
