Synopsis

A young Muslim Indian American man recalls his journey of interfaith work with his Hindu peers growing up. Due to his childhood, he learned and valued the importance of religious diversity within his own ethnic community. As a young adult in college, he began creating spaces for his peers to engage in civil discourse with members of others faiths, especially during a time when many members of the South Asian communities in America, regardless of religion, are facing an increase in discrimination. -Today’s Challenge: Ask an elder in your life—what is their story?-Today, Kumail Raza reads a narrative submitted by Aamir Hussain. | Check out Raza’s latest single Bollyhood: https://soundcloud.com/razatwn/bollyhood-featuring-graff-beatz Film Project—Partition of 1947: https://www.ghonva.com/project-partition/ | Guest Speaker: Razia Kosi | Contact us: desinarratives@gmail.com | Instagram: @desidiaspora | Podcast theme music by AnAlyzer (@iamAnAlyzer)
