Urban Eyes: Planning In Context

Sachi Arakawa is a women of many hats and talents. She is the President of the Portland local community-focused non-profit Mapping Action Collective and a GIS Analyst, Urban Planner, & Senior Associate at the private planning firm Cascadia Partners. Sachi intricately weaves her skills of leadership, data analysis, and mapping to orchestrate phenomenal community-focused projects through MAC. We are both friends and colleagues. Together with the larger MAC team, we work to help make data accessible to community members. In this episode, we discuss planning, mapping, community, local economy, and the "G" word.....Gentrification. Altogether, we really just talk with people and build maps as a team to help people navigate the world - and ultimately make it a better place!
