It’s was a conflict between the communist north and south Vietnam who was backed by US government. In 1945 defeat in World War || , Japan withdraws it’s forced from Vietnam leaving the french educated Emperor Boa Dai in control. Ho’s Viet Minh foras immediately rise up taking over the North city of Hanoi and declaring democratic Republic of Vietnam with Ho as President. In 1973 President Nixon ordered the withdrawal of US forces . Communist forces ended two war by seizing control of South Vietnam in 1975. The country was unified as the social republic of Vietnam the following year.
