Why We Shouldn’t Celebrates Valentine’s Day For many of us growing up we thought Valentine’s Day was about love however when look u up its origins. Valentine Day have nothing to do with love. Its a pagan festival celebrates on 15 of February. Lupercalia was a fertility festival dedicated to Faunus. The Roman god of agriculture,as well as the Roman founders Romulus and Remus. To begin the festival,members of the Lupercalia , an order of Roman Priests, would gather at a sacred cave where the infants Romulus and Remus. The priests would sacrifice a goat for fertility, and a dog , for purification. They would then strip the goats hide into strips ,dip them into the sacrificial blood and take to the streets, gently slapping both women and crops with the goat hide. Roman women were welcomed to touched the of the hides because it was believed to make them more fertile in the coming year. That’s why this Holiday having nothing to do with love like we have been told for many centuries. Furthermore Lupercalia survived
