Week 7 of our Battle Grounds series, we look at how demons can impact us in physical ways but Jesus can deliver us from the impact of demons. DISCUSSION QUESTIONS: 1. Have you ever encountered someone you though might have an evil spirit? What did that look like? What are the various ways that the unclean spirit affects the young boy in these verses? 2. Have you considered that an evil spirit can have physical effects on a person? 3. If you were to see the type of physical effects in a person that you see in these verses, what might you call it? 4. According to Jesus what is the reason that disciples could not cast out this demon? (compare Mark’s version with Matthew 17:19) 5. Do you believe that a believer in Jesus can cast out a demon?
