She was the first Australian to mount a full-scale ready-to-wear collection in Paris in 1995, she won Australian Designer of the Year in 1996 and the Louis Vuitton’s Business Award in 1997. In 2017 she was inducted into the Design Institute of Australia Hall of Fame, awarded an Order of Australia, and disrupted the fashion world by creating her own brand ‘Young Hearts’ for German retailer Aldi – as an affordable children’s range. The success of her personal and professional life has given her world-wide acclaim through her forthright belief in continual innovation, collaboration and leadership within the fashion world. With a myriad of fashion industry accolades under her belt, Collette also has a passion for cooking and entertaining has expanded her horizons by partaking in celebrity MasterChef, coming in as a
