In Episode 44 I'm joined by Austin's own Austin Smartt! She's a hilarious comic and hosts the podcast Gender Fluids with Arielle Norman (another Austin comic to watch for sure). In September of 2018 we were both on the Altercation Comedy Festival so I took the opportunity to talk to her about one of her favorite movies, Raw. Episode 43 is a celebration of all things Fargo! I was opening for JT Habersaat at the Cellar in Fargo, North Dakota and we got a chance to check out the new film Lizzie at the beautiful Fargo theater. We also got to go see the original wood chipper from the movie Fargo and stuff our faces on pizza and German food. Fargo-you're amazing. In addition to the movie we also discussed our haunted hotel, rock and roll werewolves, domestic work and more! Enjoy!

In Episode 40 Kristin sat down with long time friend and creator of the famed dance party Pants Off Dance Off, Claire Dactyl. Claire is a DJ, record store guru, and Kristin's Super Club sister. In Episode 35 Sonal Aggarwal, world traveler and Chicago based comedian, sat down to talk about The Descent with your host Kristin Lytie. The two quickly realized it was not quite the film they remembered loving as young women. However in that moment Sonal stressed her fondness of remembering the first time she viewed The Descent. She also explored her ability to appreciate things she doesn't like and value the artistic labor that went into them, even the worst head crushing scene. She's zen as fuck if you hadn't noticed. Within this film there is are very strong themes of hurtful competition among women, women being brutalized for standing up to power, and women also being brutalized for ..being funny? In Episode 32 I'm joined by Mariana Karampelas to discuss this 90's throwback, The Craft. Mariana is a lawyer, a bike enthusiast, and a genuine Chicago treasure. I had originally remembered this film to be an empowering tale of female teenage friendship and upon going back to re-watch it, realized just how horribly wrong I was. Mariana and I also discussed her experience growing up in a family of first generation Greek immigrants, the importance of a slow-mo squad role, and how cool we both were in high school. Happy Halloween--It's Episode 31 on October 31st! Holly Krig, Chicago activist and mother of Soph, stopped in to talk about the Exorcist. Be it anti-eviction work, abolitionism, or coordinating rides for children to see their incarcerated parents Holly is there fighting for the dignity of all people. The two chatted about growing up in Wisconsin, Dark Shadows making a lasting impression on them, and Holly discussed how she saw the Exorcist as a metaphor for restorative justice.
