Continuing the "God in Action" series, we hear the story of Brandon from Camp Royal. After the loss of his Dad while he was a young boy, Brandon spent a lot of time trying to find his identity. It wasn't until God reminded him (multiple times, really) to trust his real Father that Brandon found his identity in Christ. As Christians, we are told to expect suffering. But what does that look like? In this episode, Dave and Dante discuss scripture and how it not only tells us to expect suffering, but ways in which we can persevere through it...with the ultimate goal of giving God the glory that He deserves. If you're struggling now (whether through circumstances or choices), we pray this episode opens your eyes to the light in the darkness. "The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness shall not overcome it." (John 1:5).

"Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus" (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18). These words from Paul to the church in Thessalonica are the framework Dave and Dante use to discuss what Thanksgiving should look like for a Christian and Legacy Dad. A proper focus of gratefulness is aligned towards God - for He is good, and His love endures forever, and His faithfulness continues through all generations (adapted from Psalm 100). In this second part of the "God in Action" story of Beau and Rachel, we get to hear what happens when they both turned to God in their lives. What happens when a married couple stops listening to the world and completely submits to God? Listen in and hear how God uses two indivuduals who say "yes" to not only show His power, grace, and mercy, but then how He uses them to advance His kingdom and spread the gospel all around the world. Our "God in Action" series is a focus on hearing people's stories of God in their lives. We often look for "biblical miracles" only to miss some of the more intimate encounters between God and his children. We pray this series emboldens you to look for, listen to, and seek out God and his work in our lives. This is the story of Beau and Rachel. We were lucky enough to sit down with this couple and hear their story, but even more so, to see a husband and wife who only made it because of God and his work! In this first half of Joe's testimony, we hear about his circumstances - where he was sinful in a sin-filled world - and how God started to work on Joe through others. Spoiler alert...it isn't Joe who gets him out of the life he was in...but it did involve Joe "letting go, and letting God." "God never answers my prayers!" Chances are, as a Christian, you've probably felt like this one time in your life. God's word contains plenty of instruction for how a husband and wife should be in relationship with each other. In this week's podcast, Dave and Dante discuss 1 Peter 3:1-7...but mostly verse 7. If you feel like your prayers aren't being heard, perhaps, as a husband, you need to dive into this verse and see where you can make some improvements!

Are you ready for some scripture? Dave and Dante discuss the "god of this world" that Paul talks about in 2 Corinthians - and ways that Legacy Dads can use scripture to stay in the fight, to battle the enemy, and to really fortify the defenses against the enemy who uses tried-and-true methods to keep people from hearing, and knowing, the gospel. You’re a legacy dad (or mom, or parent, caretaker, or whatever). You’ve come to Christ and know that you’re supposed to pray. If you’re a Christian in today’s world, statistics show that we are praying less frequently, for less time, and (arguably) with less depth than in previous generations. Maybe when it comes down to it, your prayer sounds more like a prayer from a pageant contestant than someone who is trying to talk to God. If you’re in this position (or anything remotely similar), this episode is for you. Dave and Dante discuss a couple of ways to pray - the five finger method, and the ACTS method - as ways to continue to develop your prayer life.

Dante and Dave discuss five man-killers that are sure to take down any man who isn't properly equipped to recognize and respond. How do we deal with fear or abdication or anything in between?
