  • S2 Ep6: Handsome

    04/03/2019 Duration: 43min

Ana and Stevie contemplate handsomeness when it comes to getting dressed. It's a word so often associated with conventionally good-looking men, but why should it be? Together with two special guests, they consider handsomeness as a descriptor to be claimed regardless of where one is on the gender spectrum. Georgeous Michael talks us through transformational accoutrements, while Dazed Fashion Editor Emma Hope Allwood contemplates Le Smoking and handsome women in art.  An array of voices discuss their favourite season for dressing in, and there's also talk of ascribing certain items of clothing as 'masculine' or 'feminine'. Do we still need to do that in 2019? Stevie and Ana try to figure it all out.  You can follow Emma Hope Allwood on Twitter @emmahopeall Georgeous Michael is on Instagram at @georgeousmichael Layers is produced by Lucy Dearlove https://lucydearlove.com/ Follow Layers on Instagram: https://instagram.com/layers.podcast Music: E's Jammy Jams - Arabian Sand (via YouTube Music Librar

Sirena Bergman, a London-based journalist talks to Stevie about how living on a houseboat means coming up with ingenious space-related solutions. And Francis McKee, a writer, curator and lecturer who lives in Glasgow tells us about the democracy of clothing via a self-imposed uniform he has worn since 1978… You can find Sirena Bergman's writing monthly missives on dressing sustainably by signing up to her newsletter, Sartorially Happy: https://tinyletter.com/sartoriallyhappy You can follow Francis McKee on Twitter: https://twitter.com/francismckee Layers is produced by Lucy Dearlove https://lucydearlove.com/ Follow Layers on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/layers.podcast/ Music: E's Jammy Jams - Arabian Sand (via YouTube Music Lib
