(July 20, 2010) Dr J updates Todd's listeners at Issues, Etc. on the progress of NOM's Summer Marriage Tour--especially the intolerance they experienced in Providence, Rhode Island when a well-organized group of same-sex "marriage" supporters tried to shout them down (as well as intimidating and threatening the listeners).  They also discuss a settlement in Mississippi, where a school student wants to bring a same-sex date to prom.

(July 20, 2010) NOM's Summer Marriage Tour is still going strong.  This segment comes to you from Trenton, New Jersey, where Dr J addressed the question, "Why not privatize marriage?"  It sounds good, but in her opinion, it won't last--tune in to find out why.

(July 18, 2010) From Providence, Rhode Island, Dr J continues her talk on the problems related to same-sex marriage and the redefinition of parenthood that results.  (NOM's Summer Marriage Tour bus schedule is available here.)  At several points during the talk you'll be able to hear the shouting and chanting of the rainbow protestors (intent on displaying their tolerance and acceptance for all to see, no doubt).

(July 17, 2010) NOM's Summer Marriage Tour continues, and this time Dr J is speaking from Albany on the problems related to same-sex marriage and the dissolution of the biological basis of the family.  (Here's the bus schedule--check it out to see if she'll be in your neck of the woods.)  During the talk, Dr J and her listeners found themselves completely (deliberately) surrounded by rainbow protesters.

(July 14, 2010) Dr J and Todd Wilken spend this segment of Issues, Etc discussing the recent Massachusetts judge's ruling overturning DoMA, the federal Defense of Marriage Act.  She also gives us an update on what's happening on the Summer Marriage Tour (in which she's participating), a project of the National Organization for Marriage.

(June 24, 2010) Dr J speaks at the National Association of Catholic Family Life Ministers on the topic of same-sex marriage and why it has far-reaching implications for children in particular and society at large.

(July 6, 2010) Is divorce contagious?  Can it matter to your marriage if your friends are getting divorced?  According to a new study by Drs Rose McDermott, James H. Fowler, and Nicholas A. Christakis, the answer is yes.  Dr J has some insights into why this is so.

(June 29, 2010) School nurses have been handing out condoms for years...but now in Massachusetts, they'll be giving them to elementary school children.  The "revised" policy (after considerable public and parental outcry) is to only give them to 5th and 6th graders.  Dr J has more details...

(June 25, 2010) Dr J appears on Sacred Heart Radio in Cincinnati, Ohio, to discuss smart sex, marriage, divorce, and the fruits of the sexual revolution in the context of the search for lifelong married love.

(June 21, 2010) Dr J appears on The Drew Mariani Show to discuss the president's Father's Day proclamation (which included a reference to two-father families), homosexual parenting, and the recent study from Pediatrics championing lesbian parenting.

(June 16, 2010) Pediatrics has released a study that's making quite a splash.  US National Longitudinal Lesbian Family Study: Psychological Adjustment of 17-year-old Adolescents maintains that two female parents are best for children, based on the self-reporting of the parents in the study, a small sample size of 78 children, and comparison with an unspecified control group.  Dr J's counter to the "study" is here.

(June 1, 2010)  According to Gallup's recent Values and Beliefs survey, Americans are "sharply divided" on 4 issues: doctor-assisted suicide, homosexual relations, abortion, and out-of-wedlock childbearing.  Close to half of us perceive these activities in particular as "morally acceptable;" close to half disagree and find them "morally wrong."  (The survey asked about 16 behaviors; these were the most evenly divided among those polled.)  Curious?  Listen in.

(May 25, 2010) Great Britain has just permitted ads for abortion to air on its television stations, and CBS covered the story and spotlighted one such ad, which never mentions the word "abortion" but directs viewers to an 800 number they can call for "balanced advice."  Just how balanced the advice is remains to be seen, since Marie Stopes representatives described the spot as "Britain's first-ever TV commercial for abortion services."

(April 18, 2010) ABC's Good Morning America recently did a story on a dance routine performed by 8-year-olds.  The reason this one merited media attention--well, here's the video.  It has quite a few people upset--with the surprising exception of the girls' parents.
