Mike and Cam welcome Cathy Sloan in our first phone interview. She shares her journey to diagnosis including the challenges she has faced before and after finding out that she has celiac disease. She also talks about some of the obstacles she faces finding good gluten free food and medical assistance in North Carolina.

Mike and Cam talk about the controversial comments of presidential candidate Ted Cruz. Also, a conversation about jobs besides the military that might be challenging to get for people with celiac and gluten issues. Plus, we discuss NHL hockey player, Max Domi, who manages both celiac and type 1 diabetes.

We have our first guest, Sam (Mike's nephew) and we learn some fascinating facts about him. Sam was diagnosed with celiac disease almost 3 years ago, despite being symptom free. In addition, Sam is a life-long vegetarian and a college freshman. He talks about the challenges of eating gluten free safely at college and has great tips for those who are going to be starting college soon.
