Synopsis

Trying to explain what this podcast is about would be like trying to teach grandma how to send an email. It seems easy enough at first but you'll soon find it an impossible task. No Format is not a nerd-cast; we're clearly two social, pleasant, good looking gentlemen (ep. 28). No Format is not a comedy-cast; we never joke about the topic at hand and take our jobs very seriously as distributors of internet content (ep. 15). No Format is not a videogame-cast; Josh has only beaten 6 out of 8 Zelda games and we rarely play videogames while podcasting (ep. 7). No Format is not a science-cast; the occasional episode on nuclear fission and mathematical proofs will appear now and then, but all together we are not great sources of information (ep. 11 & 39). And lastly, No Format is by no means a film-cast; we just happen to know someone who makes movies (ep. 27). It also just happens that we have excellent taste and never come to dissagreements on movies (ep. 42). So what would one expect from a typical episode? We don't really have a format. Chances are if you have a mustache, play(ed) with Ninja Turtles, own a telescope, hate ugly fonts, have a friend from Korea, enjoy a good scotch, have a favorite dinosaur, wished you could golf better, prefer the original theatrical Star Wars, or in general read Wikipedia articles at least 3 times per day, you'll probably find what you've been looking for all along in this, the No Format podcast.

Episodes

  • 063 | Shortcut

    15/02/2013 Duration: 54min

I don't know what to write about this episode. Jason thinks it's our best episode yet, and he's being totally serial. Personally, I think he has low standards. Though I do believe you will find something of value in this episode. Like for example, a shortcut or two.

  • 061 | Resolutions

    07/01/2013 Duration: 52min

It's that time of the year again. Listen to Jason and I dig ourselves a 2013 Hole of Resolutions. And just so you know, it's Drambuie.

  • 060 | The Giver

    15/12/2012 Duration: 01h41s

Just me and Jason this week. We discuss the book The Giver in no great detail, birthday cake frosting and kitty cats. Tell us in the comments if The Giver was part of your school curriculum!

  • 059 | Halo 4

    30/11/2012 Duration: 01h13s

ONCE AGAIN NO FORMAT IS DROPPIN' SPOILERS LIKE THEY'RE ENERGY SWORDS. It's not that they're a bad weapon, but who can afford to get that close to the enemy?! Travis Hayes joins us once again with his crappy mic and his unparalleled view on video games.

  • 058 | Skyfall

    22/11/2012 Duration: 01h04min

SPOILERS! DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS EPISODE IF YOU HAVE NOT YET SEEN THE NEW JAMES BOND MOVIE "SKYFALL". Acclaimed movie critic Tim Karabian once again joins the No Format podcast, this time to talk Bond. After listening, why not visit www.noformatpodcast.com and tell us what you think of the latest spy flick. Just don't disagree with me.

  • 057 | J-Cast

    13/11/2012 Duration: 40min

Another lonely episode :( Josh takes on 3 school teachers in this episode of the No Format Podcast.

  • 056 | Skydive

    02/11/2012 Duration: 01h01min

Semi-retired skydiver John McKee joins us this week to discuss Felix Baumgartner's controversial jump from the stratosphere.

  • 055 | The Reveal

    26/10/2012 Duration: 51min

If you know Joshua personally, you've probably noticed he speaks spanish. If you've ever asked him how he learned, you either got a curt,"I lived in Ecuador", or he told you a lie. In this episode of the No Format Podcast, Joshua reveals the truth and the reasons behind it.

  • 054 | Post Tough Mudder

    19/10/2012 Duration: 49min

Jason, Jason and Jesus are back from their Tough Mudder adventures in various parts of California. They discuss being tough while I listen and accidentally come to the conclusion that I am drinking a Cosmo (it was, however, delicious).

  • 053 | Yellowstone

    12/10/2012 Duration: 01h36min

We're back! This one's a bruiser comin' in at 98MB. Don't plan on streaming it. I'd recommend making yourself your favorite hot beverage, plopping down in front of the computer and playing a time-consuming-but-not-particularly-involving videogame as you listen to this enhanced version of the No Format Podcast. You're in for some purdee pictures :)

  • 052 | Tough Mudder

    10/09/2012 Duration: 54min

Ryan, the mystery knight, Taylor joins us this week in a man-scussion about being manly and getting muddy. Don't believe us? Check out the video he shot with his GoPro strapped to his head.

  • 051 | Solid State Drive

    06/09/2012 Duration: 01h09min

No Format: back from the dead. Spoiler: we talk about SSD's. Fact: I have mixed feelings about Jeremy Renner.

  • 050 | Trivia Show!

    12/08/2012 Duration: 36min

You're either going to find this episode slightly entertaning or dreadfully boring depending on you're knowledge of Mushrooms, Crayons and Beatrix Potter. Jason is out this week so I hope I don't make this awkward going solo. Uh oh, I think it just got awkward. Sorry.

  • 049 | Fast Food

    06/08/2012 Duration: 39min

Joshua hasn't eaten dinner yet so this episode is pretty much driven by the excruciating hunger pangs present in his stomach. Jack in the Box patrons will know the PR photo of two tacos that was used for this episode's artwork is far form an accurate representation of their actual appearance.

  • 048 | Dark Knight Rises

    27/07/2012 Duration: 55min

Long time Batman aficionado Cyrus "The Virus" Bilimoria joins us for another one of our movie reviews. As always, our reviews are riddled with spoilers so if you haven't seen The Dark Knight Rises yet, start your download, go watch the movie, then listen to episode 48 and disagree with all of our thoughts in the comments below :)

  • 047 | Shinespark

    20/07/2012 Duration: 56min

Special guest Travis Hayes joins us on his crappy microphone for a riveting discussion about video games. We go all over the board so even if you've never played a single minute of Metroid we're sure to touch on a game that interests you. That being said, if you have successfully achieved shinespark (which to me sounds like you had a wet dream about Samus) you will certainly enjoy this weeks episode through and through.

  • 046 | Tiny Wings

    13/07/2012 Duration: 46min

I started writing the summary for this episode but I couldn't think of anything so I started playing Tiny Wings. Haven't heard of it? It's the seventh best selling app on the store, and a personal favorite of the No Format podcast, and Andreas Illiger just updated it to Version 2.0 adding an extra mode of play "flight school". Anyway, this episode also contains various other topics but why don't you buy Tiny Wings, download this podcast, and nestle into your favorite chair. We'll be your background music.

  • 045 | Luxury Periphs

    06/07/2012 Duration: 31min

If you've ever experienced the confusion of setting up your own minecraft server, this episode is for you. If you've ever treated a new peripheral to a photoshoot, this episode may also be for you. If you enjoy peeping on your neighbors, this episode is definitely for you. If you enjoy doing anything special for the 4th of July, this episode is not for you.

  • 044 | Boring Vacation Slideshows

    29/06/2012 Duration: 53min

Here at No Format we understand how exciting it is to hear your friends boast about how much fun they had on their summer vacation. That's why in episode 44 we dedicate the better part of an hour to showing you photos from our recent camping adventures. This is an enhanced podcast my friends. Listen for the audible queues that there is an image on your podcast playing device. Don't forget to leave us comments below!
