It's a short week, which means there isn't a lot of time to dwell over a loss to the Rams. And why are we dwelling on a loss to the Rams anyway? It's not like we haven't experienced multiple losses to stupid inferior Rams teams in a season before anyway. Even though the Seahawks defense held Stafford and the Rams to just 17 points, is there some blame to be shared by that position group? Shane Waldron seems to struggle situationally, but does it mean he should be fired? We talk about our preferred alternatives. Even with the loss, the Seahawks are in prime position to take over the NFC West with two matchups against the division rival San Francisco 49ers in the next three weeks. This will be a big challenge and there are similar concerns in this matchup as we saw with the game against the Baltimore Ravens earlier this year. Geno Smith, after taking a hit from Aaron Donald in the third quarter, shed the tape and ice from around his elbow to come in for the final drive of the game. He dealt strikes to Tyler and DK to put the team in position for a great ending (despite a dismal second half of football). Unfortunately, it didn't work out. The Seahawks made a move at the trade deadline to acquire interior defensive lineman Leonard Williams. The Seahawks put points up early against the NFL's best defense so far this season. It looked like they could've run away with the game early. However, the offense slowed, DK Metcalf and Geno Smith failed to connect on nine different passes, and penalties killed multiple drives. Some fourth quarter heroics helped put the game away, though.
