    On March 24, 1989, 14-year-old Andre Roland was found hanging from a tree with a belt around his neck. The authorities quickly ruled Andre's death a suicide, but many have questioned this ruling over the years. Andre's family has never believed that Andre took his life, and they have questioned the integrity of the police investigation. Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the death of Andre Roland. It was a tragic end to the life of a young boy who was loved by many. He was personable and friendly, traits that earned him many friends. Questions remain so many years after his death. Did Andre really take his own life, or was foul play involved? There were rumors that his death was racially motivated, but various law enforcement agencies have said they could not substantiate those rumors.     On September 20th, 1988, Tara Calico went for her daily bike ride. She never came home. Thirty-four years later, the disappearance of Tara Calico remains unsolved. Tara was 19 years old when she went missing. She was independent and bright, seemed on a positive track in life, and was loved by friends and family. Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the disappearance of Tara Calico. Many people saw Tara on her bike ride that day, but no one saw exactly what happened to her. Some people insist they saw a truck following her. The bike she was riding that day was found along with a Boston cassette tape that belonged to Tara. The emergence of a polaroid photograph that we discussed in episode 72 of this podcast plays heavily into this case. Many people, especially Tara's mother, believe that the girl in that photo is Tara.   • The Deaths in Devil's Gulch

    In August 2021, an entire family went missing after going on a hike in the California Sierra Mountains. All would be found dead, even their dog. Each had apparently died where they were found, with no apparent cause of death. Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the mysterious deaths of Jonathan Gerrish, Ellen Chung, their one-year-old daughter Miju, and their dog Oski. Because the authorities took some time to release an official cause of death, theories online were rampant, and they ranged from poisoning to a lightning strike. In the end, it was determined that all died from hyperthermia, but many people are not convinced of that finding.   • The Lava Lake Murders

    In April 1924, three fur trappers from Bend, Oregon, were found floating in the recently thawed Big Lava Lake. The men were attacked and were fatally shot. The three trappers were 50-year-old Ed Nichols, 35-year-old Roy Wilson, and 25-year-old Dewey Morris. Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the mysterious Lava Lake murders. One suspect was arrested but never convicted of the three murders. The Lava Lake murders remain one of Oregon's oldest unsolved cases. Much of the evidence pointed towards this man named Charles Kimzey, who was wanted for serious crimes in many states. But, by the time police caught up to him, many of the witnesses were no longer certain about their identifications.   • The Murders of Nancy and Joey Bochicchio

    In December 2007, Nancy Bochicchio and her daughter Joey were found dead in Nancy's SUV in the parking lot of a Boca Raton, Florida mall. An unknown individual kidnaped Nancy and Joey. Nancy was forced to withdraw money from an ATM, and she and her daughter were fatally shot in the backseat. Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss this unsolved murder. His body was contorted to an extreme degree, and it appeared as though there was no way he climbed into that bag on his own. It came out that he was also an employee of Government Communication Headquarters, the UK intelligence and security organization, and was working with MI6 at the time of his death. The last time she was seen alive, she was walking towards her home. But, Elsie never made it home, and her body was later found by a man walking his children and dog in Wakefield, England. Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the murder of Elsie Frost. Investigators believe that she was attacked after she entered a railway tunnel on foot. Her murder shocked the community, and Scotland Yard sent detectives to assist with solving the case. The manhunt was huge, and as many as 12,000 people were questioned about their whereabouts on that day. Police finally zeroed in on a man named Ian Bernard Spencer. But was he Elsie's killer? And if he wasn't, did the time that police spent on Spencer cause them to discount Peter Pickering, who was dubbed by the press as the Beast of Wombwell?     Eleven-year-old Ananda Dean went missing on September 17, 2008. She was last seen leaving her school, where she was a sixth-grade student, in Jamaica. The police found some clues when some of her school books were found in two different locations at separate times. Her body was found less than two weeks after she disappeared. Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the disappearance and murder of Ananda Dean. Even though the police had some clues to go on, they were at a loss to figure how who killed Ananda. Her body was badly decomposed and yielded few clues. This also caused a major delay in the identification of her body. The next month, police led a manhunt for two men who attacked a teen girl not too far from where Ananda was found. Could this pair be responsible for her murder?     On October 23rd, 2012, Vanessa Malone, or Honey as she was known, went to a friend's apartment and was fatally shot. Her body was found in a closet in the apartment's main bedroom. The police believe that Honey walked in on an armed robbery and was tragically in the wrong place at the wrong time, but Honey's family believes there is much more to the story. Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the baffling murder of Honey Malone. Two people inside the apartment were not shot, and they later told police that masked men had kicked in their door and tied them up before Honey walked inside and was killed. Honey's family never gave up trying to find the truth, and in 2020, Donald Ashe, one of the individuals who said they were tied up in the apartment, was arrested. He has yet to go to trial, but it's just a matter of time before the truth comes out.     On February 5th, 1985, 68-year-old Helen Wilson was murdered inside her apartment. The police had some forensic evidence but struggled to figure out who had committed the murder. They eventually honed in on people who they believed fit the FBI profile of the killer or killers. In the end, five people falsely confessed to the murder, and six people were found guilty related to the crime. Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the case of The Beatrice 6 and the murder of Helen Wilson. Joseph White, Thomas Winslow, Ada JoAnn Taylor, Debra Shelden, James Dean, and Kathy Gonzalez became known as The Beatrice 6. All but White eventually confessed to playing some role in the murder of Helen Wilson. They were eventually exonerated, but just how did the police get five people to admit to being involved when they apparently played no role at all?
