My special guest is Nick Phipps. Nick is a scrum half for both the NSW Waratahs and Australian Wallabies which includes 97 Super Rugby Games and 68 tests for his country. He won a Super Rugby Tittle in 2014 for the Waratahs, a silver medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games and has been to two World Cups in 2011 and 2015.Nick probably has the most intriguing back story of them all with both his Grand Fathers being together as prisoners of war in World War 2 and years later his parents meet randomly and marry. My special guest is Dr Ric Charlesworth. Ric is a legend of Australian Hockey as both a player and coach. His career included 227 games as a player for Australia going to 4 Olympics and winning a silver medal. He would also captain his country. His illustrious coaching career included coaching both the men’s and women’s national teams. He led the women’s team to two Olympic gold medals in 1996 & 2000, World Cup’s in 1994 and 1998 and Champion’s Trophy wins in 93, 95, 99 and 99 with this period of time regarded as one of the most dominate teams in sporting history. Ric would also lead the men’s team successfully for a period of time.
