RED-C Roundup's goal is to foster an even greater sense of unity among the parishes in our listening areas by providing information on all the amazing ways the Holy Spirit is working here. On the show, we highlight activities that are happening around the parishes each week as well as interview individuals involved in doing Gods work locally.     On Wednesday, June 9, 2021, Gene Wilhelm spoke in the first segment with Fr. Greg Gerhart, Vocations Director for the Diocese of Austin. Fr. Greg gave us an update on priestly ordinations this summer and some of the official steps that men who think they might have a call to Holy Orders can take to discern their call properly. In the main segment, RED-C Catholic Radio was honored to have in the studio, Fr. John McManamon, S.J., a Jesuit priest, historian, and nautical archaeologist.     On Wednesday, March 31, 2021, Pam Marvin had the pleasure of speaking with Sr. Tatum of the Apostles of the Interior Life at St. Mary's Catholic Center in College Station, Texas. The subject was one dear to Sr. Tatum's heart and it showed through in the remarkable, sincere interview she gave to us. For years, Sr. Tatum has been in close spiritual friendship with Servant of God Chiara Petillo, who died of cancer in 2012 while still a very young woman and mother of new baby boy. A seemingly normal, ordinary Italian woman, Chiara gave a Christian witness in the face of suffering, anguish, and disease that is arguably heroic. Using Fr. Mike Schmitz's excellent episode from his own podcast with Ascension Presents as a starting point, "Why You Can't Put Your Faith in People," the Roundup participants explained the necessity, even in the face of real distress and hurt from scandal, that each of have to ground our Faith not on the example of others, but on the Truth of the Church's Tradition and Magisterium. We must remember that the grace communicated through the Sacraments are not dependent on the holiness of the minister. And we must put the onus on ourselves to offer the most upright example possible even as we are realistic about the examples given to us by others.
