On Wednesday, May 1, Deacon Mike Beauvais talked with Carolyn Martinez, coordinator of Catechesis for the Diocese of Austin. Carolyn recommended that children start religious education in grade one and make their first holy communion in grade 2. She works very closely with all religious to give them the resources needed for children to be successful in receiving their sacraments. On Wednesday, April 24, host Judy Comeaux interviewed Darren Sinkule from West about his inspiring story of his newly found love for our Lord after his heart transplant. Darren grew up just outside of West, Texas and graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic School in West. Darren talks about how he learned the importance of prayer from his grandmother, as they would pray a Rosary every day after school. He served ever since he was a young child at mass every day, and was even told by a priest that he might be called to become a priest. When he grew up, Darren says he became very sinful, full of pride and anger. His wife, Stephanie had been praying for something to humble her husband. Suddenly, he was diagnosed with a heart condition. In 2011, he was asked to attend an ACTS retreat, where he was deeply humbled. He said “my life changed.” After Darren got back from the retreat, he told God that he would surrender to him. He was getting weaker as the years went on, and on April 16, 2013, he had congestive heart failur

This year Dr. Gloria Frost, a philosopher at the University of St. Thomas (MN) spoke about St. Thomas Aquinas's answers to objections to belief in God based on the problem of evil. Then Dr. Robin Collins, a philosopher from Messiah College, gave a defense of God's existence through the fine-tuning argument for Creation.
