    Training at High Altitudes can turn you in to a High Altitude Dude. I just got back from Denver Colorado and trained both at 5280ft and sea level and I can tell you, there is a BIG difference. The positive affects of training at high altitude occurs at elevations above 1500m or 5000ft. Training at this elevation can increase red blood cell count and improve cardio vascular capacity once you return to sea level. I experienced this phenomenon first hand and want to share my thoughts and experiences with you. I also go a little sideways in this episode, ranting about Hot Yoga haters. Snicker all you want.     Time to take a closer look at our performance output. Not your best day or your worst day but how you are on an average day. Is it good enough? This Week’s Task: Take a look at your overall performance over the next 7 days. Mark down a score of 1-10 on your calendar based on how you rank your performance in whatever it is you are working on improving. 10/10 is you executing at the highest level! 1/10 is a day when everything went wrong and you threw in the towel. Now add up all the scores and divide by 7. This will be your performance mean. Now you can look at ways to improve the performance mean to perform at a higher level more consistently.     Regression to the mean is an important concept to understand when you are working with world class performers. Sometimes you have an unbelievable performance, you feel on top of the world and your ego tries to convince you that you can perform at this level time and time again. The next game you go out with a chip on your shoulder and end up “crapping the bed” and having one of your worst performances and feel the need to go back to the drawing board and rebuild your game! Which performance was the real you? Not enough information to make this judgement? What you need to do is look at your average performances and work on improving the average performance until it resembles what is currently your outlier best performance.
