It was Opening Day, but not just any Opening Day!  The St. Louis home crowd welcomed back #5 as part of a tribute to the Opening Day trio of Pujols, Wainright and Molina. Of course we had clydesdales, red jackets and the familiar sounds Busch Stadium III.  It was a winner! North on I-55, the Cubs opened up for the entire league by taking the opener from Brewers with help from some unexpected power from their young infielder. Oh, and Pete missed all of this!

With one relatively minor signing late in free agency, everything is made right in the world. Announcing that "This is it", Albert Pujols heads back to St. Louis, and Ron and Pete couldn't be happier. (Yes, even Pete is glad to see The Machine wearing the birds on the bat again.) Baseball, in its hubris, has let the popularity of the sport slip, and there couldn't be a worse time to create an artificial, man-made crisis; however, they've opted to do just that.   The way the game is played is less exciting to its core fans as it has become a game of math. The Team went into this week's show with the best of intentions, but then Gerritt Cole and Bobby Manfred opened their big mouths and pissed everybody off, leading to an epic Pete rant at the opening of the show. Based on the latest news out of the labor negotiations, Ron's Twitter account (@ToR_Ron75) will fade into history on February 12. The owners requested a mediator this week, and it's likely that MLBPA will decline, making it almost inevitable that Spring Training will be impacted and, in all likelihood, the 2022 season, as well. Will they never learn? The Team (joined by Scott and Braden) console themselves by diving deep into Chapter Six of The Book of Boba Fett and speculate about the future of Star Wars.
