Synopsis

The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) is a division of the Maryland Department of Transportation, and one of the largest multi-modal transit systems in the United States. MTA operates Local and Commuter Buses, Light Rail, Metro Subway, Maryland Area Regional Commuter (MARC) Train Service, and a comprehensive Paratransit (Mobility) system. MTA also manages the Taxi Access system, and directs funding and statewide assistance to Locally Operated Transit Systems (LOTS) in each of Marylands 23 counties, Baltimore City, Annapolis and Ocean City.

The festival will be held from 11am to 9pm on Friday and Saturday, July 21 and 22, and from 11am to 8pm on Sunday, July 23 in Baltimore’s Arts & Entertainment District neighborhoods. Over night, 5000 bus stop signs were unveiled, every bus route in the system changed and over 17,000 calls were handled by the call center. MDOT MTA also had 300 Transit Ambassadors throughout the city assisting riders with the new system on the day of the launch.
