  • Tales from the Hunt #1 - A Monster Hunter World Podcast

    21/02/2018 Duration: 47min

Greetings Hunter. This is the first in a Monster Hunter World specific podcast series. We are doing to go into detail about our hunts, the weapons we've used and the monsters that we have fought. In this first episode, we talk a bit about how we first came to the Monster Hunter series and where we currently are in Monster Hunter. We also chat about our weapons and armour as well as what skills we are finding most useful. It is worth mentioning that these podcasts will have mild spoilers throughout. If you haven't finished the game yet, you might want to come back later. The plan, best laid and all, for each episode is to discuss one monster, one weapon and some tales from our hunts along the way. • Bits & Pieces Podcast #10 - Games We Want To Play & Games We Should Have Played

    23/01/2018 Duration: 01h44min

Welcome to 2018, you beautiful people! Alright, so it has been 2018 for a while. We aren't exactly known for being prompt or timely when it comes to covering video games, or times of the year. Anyway, in this podcast, we look forward to the games that we can't wait to play in 2018. Notable games include Red Dead Redemption 2, Monster Hunter World, The Last of Us 2 and Dragon Quest XI. We also look back on those games that have been left to stew in our pile of shame. These include excellent games like Divinity: Original Sin, Pillars of Eternity, Persona 5 and Nioh. George also has a few board games to tells us about. Like the time he spent 10 hours embroiled in interstellar politics with Twilight Imperium 4th Edition and about his bike races of Flamme Rouge. There are also a few New Year's resolutions before we finally end the episode with a quiz. Thanks for listening.

  • Bits & Pieces Podcast #9 - That Bizarre Death Stranding Trailer and then Video Game Companions

    21/12/2017 Duration: 01h35min

Merry almost Christmas/seasons greetings/have a good time/I should have research religious holidays that happening around now/shut up Nevi, to everyone! I should firstly apologies for me derailing the topic of this podcast. I was tired and it wasn't until I listened back to it I realised I was being an arse, so sorry for that. Anyway, we start this podcast with some news related stuff which we've never done before. We talk about the weirdness that is Death Stranding and the badness that is the loss of Net Neutrality.  After that, we have a good chat about video game companions and tired Nevi does his best to ruin it. But then George talks us through Bomber Crew and I get to do a quiz on Earthlock: Festival of Magic.  That about sums it up. The chances are extremely slim that we will get to do another podcast before the New Year, I hope you all have a good one. Until next time, bye!

  • Interview with ICEBOX: Speedgunner Developer Carmine Fantarella

    08/12/2017 Duration: 29min

Hello! Today, we have something a little different. We have an interview with ICEBOX: Speedgunner developer, Carmine Fantarella. I got to ask him about the game's development, where the idea came from and what is happening in the future. Anyway, enough words go enjoy the interview. If you haven't read it already, then my review of ICEBOX: Speedgunner is here - http://bitsandpieces.games/2017/10/30/icebox-speedgunner-review/ You can find ICEBOX: Speedgunner on Steam - http://store.steampowered.com/app/577150/ICEBOX_Speedgunner/ As always you can find us at bitsandpieces.games On Twitter @bitspluspieces On Instagram @thosebitsandpieces On Facebook @thosebitsandpieces

  • Bits & Pieces Podcast #8 - Maps

    23/11/2017 Duration: 01h32min

As the winner of last weeks quiz showdown, George has chosen the topic for this podcast. That topic being - Maps. Now, I know we all love a good map. We all love the way the lines look as they outline regions, the text that shows us what a place is and best of all, best of all, we love the pretty colours. Alright so that is probably mostly things I love about maps, but they are all over video games. We use them in most games without even really thinking about it, so it makes for some interesting discussions. Once the map talk is over, we chat a little more about Total War: Warhammer 2 (yes, we love the Total War series). And as last week's loser, Gav has brought a quiz based on Total War: Warhammer 2. I should also apologise for my coughing throughout the podcast. I did try to edit most of it out, but some coughs have likely slipped through. Thanks for listening.

  • Bits & Pieces Podcast #7 - Difficulty and Video Games

    03/11/2017 Duration: 01h27min

Welcome back to the Bits & Pieces Podcast. In this special episode, we have a theme - difficulty. We discuss how hard games should be, can be and actually are. Is this good, bad, something else? Have a listen and see. Throughout our discussion, we talk about Ruiner, Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Echo, Wolfenstein 2 and much more. Gavin has stepped into his role as difficulty arbiter as the Judge in a feature we are calling - The Hardcourt. And we cap this episode off with another quiz. This time I quiz Gav and George on Mega Man Robot Masters, so play along at home and try to beat these guys.

  • Bits & Pieces Podcast #6 - Until Dawn, Heat Signature, Sherlock Holmes, Cuphead, Warhammer 2, Quiz

    09/10/2017 Duration: 01h30min

Welcome back to our semi-regular podcast.  Diving right into things, this podcast I chat all about how much I loved Until Dawn and Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishment. George and Gav and been playing havoc across the galaxy in Heat Signature. Gav has also tried a little of Cuphead, too. Whereas George has been forging armies and bathing in the blood of his enemies in Total War: Warhammer 2. Finally, we cap this episode off with a Quiz based on the Valkyria Chronicles game series. Thanks for listening.

  • Bits & Pieces Podcast #5 - XCOM 2, GTA 5, Calculator - The Game, Bookclubbing

    22/09/2017 Duration: 01h46min

Welcome to our first ever book club episode. As excited for that as I'm sure you are, we also have some other great stuff to cover as well. After our usual preamble, George starts to rave about the latest XCOM 2 expansion - War of the Chosen. Shortly after that, George and Gav chat about GTA 5. I'm mostly quiet during this conversation because -  hold on to your hats - I've never played and have little interest in doing so. You do get to hear my losing my mind over a calculator game not long after that though, so as you can see I've been keeping my ear to the ground looking for cutting-edge video games. Next up is our book club for Games People Play which is a hefty chunk of this podcast. Fair warning that it is tangentially related to games but there is still some interesting talk nestle in there. Finally, we cap this podcast off with something special devised by George - a Video Game of Life. In it, Gav and I live out our childhood through various video game worlds. Play along and see if you would have ha

  • Bits & Pieces Podcast #4 - Switch, Brink, 12 Orbits, Letters from Whitechapel

    11/09/2017 Duration: 01h24min

Greetings once more. I must apologise for the delay in getting this podcast out to you fine folks. Groveling aside, we have a great podcast ready to grace your ears.  Gav has been and bought himself a shiny new Nintendo Switch and regales us with tails of that wonderous console. George then takes us back in time with some talk about Brink. He also gives a massive shout out to local multiplayer game 12 Orbits. And finally, we wrap up with our usual board games segment with some Letters from Whitechapel, Race for the Galaxy and Sushi Go! A reminder that we are doing some bookclubbing with Games People Play next podcast. Fair warning that this book is only tangentially related to video games but does have some relation to social games and board gaming in general though.  Enjoy! • Bits & Pieces Podcast #3 - Deus Ex, Battlegrounds, Arkham Horror The Card Game, Super Cool Quiz

    01/08/2017 Duration: 01h27min

Hello again! We really must stop meeting like this. Oh, you brought me a flower, how kind. How did you know I really enjoyed that PS3 game? I'm touched, truly. Anyway, back in podcast land Nevi, Gav and George have been playing a few things that they'd love to tell you about. Nevi has dabbled in Deus Ex Mankind Divided with mixed results and the power combo of Gav and George have been gorging themselves on chicken dinners - the fatties. When it comes to board games, George has played another version of Fury of Dracula that is like the other one but different (just listen to that bit of the podcast I don't really know how best to explain it here). Nevi on the other-hand finally got through an Arkham Horror The Card Game campaign and it was great so he can tell you all about that. Finally, we cap this podcast off with a mammoth quiz designed by George. You can play along at home if you want and see if you can get a higher score than either Nevi or Gav (spoiler, you probably can). You can find more of us at

  • Bits & Pieces Podcast #2 - Nier, Hitman, Civ, Mini Metro, Ethnos, Fury of Dracula

    12/07/2017 Duration: 01h34min

Hello again! I can't believe you came back a second time - are you feeling alright? Do you need me to call someone? Nevi and George are joined by another Bits & Pieces man in the form of Gavin. This week the boys are talking about what they bought in the Steam Sale. Nevi has been a good boy this year and didn't buy a single thing (although his wishlist is now bursting at the seams). Gav tells us about Nier Automata and One Shot and George goes into what makes the latest Hitman game so much fun. We cap this section off with a chat about Civilization VI and why Nevi feels like he is done with the series. Moving swiftly onwards, George has been playing Mini Metro (which must have had something do with a very cool article written by a certain someone). Honestly though, Mini Metro is great you should play it. Unfortunately, Nevi discovered that King Arthur 2 is not so great and he explains exactly why this is the case. Finally, we have a fun board games discussion. After getting some games of Ethnos in, Nevi gi

  • GamerTime UK Podcast Oldcast #1 - Street Fighter V, Unravel, Firewatch, Dying Light, The Division

    28/12/2016 Duration: 01h01min

This week we couldn't get enough people together to do a proper podcast. Fortunately, there are a few episodes of the oldcast that haven't been reuploaded and here is one of them. In this first ever GamerTime podcast we discuss Street Fighter V and fighting games in general, Mike isn't all that impressed with Unravel, Chris and I talk about the amazing Firewatch, we have some Dying Light chat and finally discuss The Division. A quick reminder that this podcast took place in early 2016, so everything we talk about is out of date but still interesting. • GamerTime UK Podcast #7 - Dreadnought, Time Commanders, PlayStation Vita

    20/12/2016 Duration: 01h06min

Welcome back. Nevi here again and this week I'm joined by Gav and George. After a slightly surreal delve into our sleeping patterns we discuss the recent Dreadnought Beta, the Time Commanders TV show and my new obsession with the PlayStation Vita. We also answer out first listener question. If you have any questions then you can tweet them at the GamerTime Twitter (@GamerTime UK). For those who are interested, I couldn't remember the name of the space sim where you played as a frigate class ship. Anybody got any ideas? Also I multiple times struggle to say Nihilumbra - a mix of nihilism and umbra and not nihilation and umbra like I kept saying. Anyway, enjoy the podcast. • GamerTime UK Podcast #6 - Planet Coaster, Titanfall 2, XCOM 2, Reigns, Games of the Year

    13/12/2016 Duration: 01h06min

Welcome back to the GamerTime podcast. Nevi here and this week I'm joined by Mike and George. Something really weird happened and my recording stopped for about 20 minutes or so, but then picked back up at the end. I think it was because my mic disagreed with my games of the year, so the last part of the podcast might be a little confusing in parts. I've edited it to limit this, but it will still be a bit odd in places. For the actual podcast though: Mike talks about how is disappointed in Planet Coaster, we talk about poor old Titanfall 2, George goes into depth about XCOM 2 and Reigns. Finally we end with our top 3 games of the year (minus mine). If you are interested in them then, then they were Uncharted 4, Orwell and Firewatch in that order from 1-3. Let me know how they stack up to your own. Thanks for listening.
