Same, Same, But Different   1 Corinthians 12:12-13   Have you ever tackled one of those 1,000 piece jigsaw puzzles?  You know the type where no two pieces are the same, and so many of them look to be the same piece of the puzzle?  The church is like that!    

The Student Becomes the Master   1 Corinthians 9:25-27   Wouldn't it be great to be able to say to some junior Christians, "Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ."  Growth is the goal of every Christian- and growth means helping to grow others.    

The Obstacle Course   1 Corinthians 9:23-24   Of course there's obstacles in faith.  Big, giant, difficult, perfect obstacles.  Every one is meant to be a training ground for your future faith, but not if we don't make it past the first hurdle.    

Are Those Pyjamas?   1 Corinthians 9:23-24   I guess there's a big difference between those who are dressing up like Ninjas and those who mean business.  The same goes for faith - are we in it to win it, or are we wearing costumes at the contest?    

A Great Exchange - Sally Graham   2 Corinthians 5:21   Sometimes it is not the deep things that we find hard to fathom.  Sometimes it is the foundational things that are difficult to grasp because they are at odds with how we live our lives.  Salvation can be one of those things.    

Heavenly Sacrifice   1 Corinthians ch 9   Sometimes a lot is asked or even demanded from us, it can make us bitter and reluctant.  But all this can be undone with a change of perspective - who we do it for and why.    

Growing Pains - Erin Spavin   Ezekiel 37:1-14   There's an old saying, "as in the natural, so in the spiritual".  Growing pains are something that we experience in the natural, but when we aim to follow Christ, we can also experience spiritual growing pains.      

Heavenly Choices   1 Corinthians 8   We would love to think that our choices are our own and only affect us, but does that "knowledge" build anyone else up?  There may be choices in our lives that need to be made from another, higher perspective to help us accomplish a higher goal.    

Heavenly Romance   1 Corinthians 7   Since Adam had his Eve people have sought for completion in the pursuit of Romance.  But is there a higher perspective for relationships and marriage?    

Feeling Sow Sow   2 Corinthians 9:5-7   The great thing about a seed is its unlimited potential - unless you eat it.  Sow the seed and it will produce even more seeds, which can be resown and resown again - constant growth.  Unless you eat the all the seeds.  God wants us to be sowers and loving it.    

Missions is Bringing People to Jesus - Jeremy Steel   Pastor Jeremy Steel is fresh back from trips to Myanmar, Ghana, PNG, India and many more places we've been supporting him to go and sow the seeds of the Gospel.  He will inspire and challenge you to be a world Christian who helps change nations.    

Bon Appetit   1 Corinthians 6:14   That's a saying I've never needed encouragement in before a meal - I always love to eat.  But of course not all eating is good for us, so how do we learn to balance what we need with what is good for us?    

Hunger Games   1 Corinthians 6:13   The movie creates a scenario where there are limited resources and only one winner.  A metaphor for life?  It sounds like hell but it's the way we are trained to live on planet earth.  Surely God has something better than hunger?    

AGM Sunday   This week we have our Annual General Meeting, and as is our custom we take time to reflect on all the wonderful things God has done at Hope Central in 2018 and into 2019.  Hear stats and stories and be inspired for what he has laid in front of us for the coming year.    

I Have a Need for ... Restoration - Peter Heyworth   Isaiah 42:5-10   The Tension!  You know what I mean, the tension of knowing that things are just not right.  We can be somewhat aware of our weaknesses and failings, and feel the tension of not being what we believe we should be.  We want restoration, to a better us.  What does that look like?    

Who's Your Daddy? - Steve Crouch   Romans 8:14-16   Relationships!  Opening up to others.  Are we able to really be ourselves to others?  How vulnerable and transparent are we?  Perhaps we aren't, because we don't see ourselves well.  How we relate to others is dependant on how we see ourselves, and sometimes also on how others see us.  The same goes for our relationship with God.    

Passion, Purpose and Process - Peter Heyworth   Colossians 1:24-2:5   Motivation!  So often we are encouraged and admonished to be motivated for all kinds of things in life.  It is only natural that we ask ourselves what our motivation should be for our christian walk.
