Hmm. After the high of the victories over Newcastle and Man Utd, Forest were almost brought crashing down to earth when they fell two goals down at home to League One Blackpool in the first half an hour, with ex-Red Jordan Gabriel scoring the first (and refusing to celebrate). Fortunately Nico Dominguez headed home to make it 1-2 before half-time, and Morgan Gibbs-White's rocket in the second half saved the Reds from total embarrassment. The headlines for Nuno's first game were dominated by the referee, who dropped an enormous clanger by sending off Willy Boly and then compounded it (alongside VAR) by not giving anything when Adam Smith handled the ball whilst in the area. Unfortunately the upshot is that, like last year, Forest gave up the lead at home to Bournemouth and ended up on the losing team. Despite a creditable performance, it was another home defeat for the Reds as they lacked quality in both boxes. Forest suffered a rare home defeat, but in reality Brighton were the better team. Had it not been for a penalty and an, ahem, interesting red card for visiting skipper Lewis Dunk, the Reds would probably have been dead and buried.
