In 1979, 22-year-old Betty Jean Shade was murdered on Wopsy Mountain, just outside of Altoona, PA. It was a gruesome murder carried out by her boyfriend, Benjamin Barnwright. This murder is featured in episode 5 of the David Fincher produced, Netflix series 'Mindhunter'. This podcast features the 52 year veteran newspaper journalist and columnist, Phil Ray, who first wrote about the murder in '79, followed it's story throughout the years, and came back to write a follow-up for the 'Mindhunter' episode in the local newspaper, 'The Altoona Mirror'.
