  • Episode 49 - No Labels, No Limits - with Glenn Livingston, author, CEO, creator Ph. D and coach

    03/01/2019 Duration: 46min

Silence Your Inner Pig and Never Binge Eat Again! Today's guest, Glenn Livingston PhD, gives a fun and insightful interview. Glenn is a formerly obese and food-obsessed psychologist that has learned how to leave binge eating behind.  When asked what his favorite part about his work is, he says, "The most exciting thing is giving people their lives back. Anybody that has actually been stuck with overeating may feel like it's ruining their lives. Like, you know, having a bowl of M&M's seems like a good idea at the moment, but then you spend the day recovering from it and thinking about and it overtakes your mind. The mental obsession drives you crazy and you're not present for life. In mindfulness, we would call this the "monkey mind chatter" and what I think I've discovered is a shortcut or a hack to eliminate the monkey mind so that you can be present in life and people tell me that they have their life back."    Learn more about Dr. Livingston here:  www.NeverBingeAgain.com Facebook https://www.facebook.com/

Listen in as our 6'5" guest shares unique insights into mind-shift changes.  "I believe that the whole key to our mindset, to our mind shifting, is the words that we choose and the words that we say. My motto has become 'the words we choose, set ourselves up for either success or a failure' because whatever we say, our subconscious hears it as a reality, whether it is or not because our subconscious has no filters. The subconscious is a perfect recorder. It is simply a lousy playback system because it plays back what has been anchored in your subconscious with highly charged emotions." She leaves us with a final piece of wisdom when facing insurmountable odds, "Remember this, remember to breathe and remember to watch your breath as you breathe, regardless of what you're doin

And so if you don't understand in your core that thinking is important and that really looking at the big picture is important. You're not gonna do it. So, I really recommend getting in a rhythm around this so that you put time dedicated time on your calendar and you hold yourself accountable for taking that time to think." She also speaks about results, accountability, and delegation. "One of my core tenants is accountability because we all have good intentions. But we really want is for our behaviors to b

Well, I'm here to tell you that's useless and the reason why is because the way it should be written, if I was the fortune cookie guy writing that, it would read, "The journey to where you want to go begins with a single footstep in the right direction, because then you would find out that it wouldn't be a thousand miles after all." "The first thing about success is 1) it needs to be specific and clear. What do we say? A goal that is specific and clear becomes attainable. There al

So although you may feel like your life's falling apart or you feel like you're falling apart, energetically you are 100 percent ready." "One of the basic tools that I learned to use is regarding expression. If you've held a lot in, bite down and start the writing process, write it all down. And then that's what I did." "We can't do everything all the time, 100% of the time. There's a Facebook meme that says, 'I can do anything. I just can't do everything.' And as instagrammy as that may sound, it's a really important reminder - so if I can do anything but I can't do everything, if I team up with someone else in the same predicament, we're actually going to be able to accomplish more. It's creating a sense of belonging in that community and a sense of belonging has act

My job forced me to do things myself. It forced me to learn myself and that was the best lesson anybody could have ever pushed me into." "Think about this. When we gain weight, it takes us a while to put it on. It's going to take us a while to get it off. Being able to see the world in a way that is full of opportunity and full of gifts and full of experiences without judging."
