Chen’s performances have been featured on radio and television stations around the world, including KBS television and radio in Korea, NHK television in Japan, and NPR in the United States.   As a Professor in the Practice of Piano, Chen teaches a studio of graduate and undergraduate piano students. In addition, he is the Deputy Dean at the Yale School of Music, a role that involves overseeing academic affairs and general institutional management, and also serves as Director of the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival–Yale Summer School of Music, where he also performs. May 21 – July 1, 2022 The Yale Norfolk School of Art, established in 1948, is an intensive six week undergraduate summer residency program  for rising seniors. Byron Kim and Lisa Sigal, the Yale Norfolk School of Art co-directors, are pleased to announce the 2022 session will take place with consideration for the safety and health of the students, faculty, staff and the Norfolk community. At this time Yale Norfolk School of Art is moving forward with plans to accommodate 22 students who will live in cottages on The Ellen Battell Stoeckel Estate (the campus) and work in the newly renovated Art Barn. Only students who are planning to graduate in 2023 are eligible to be nominated for the program. Students who will have graduated by 2022 are not eligible to apply. Students will follow a curriculum of Yale College art courses including Critical Studies, Advanced Image Making, and Senior Studio. Justin has maintained a diverse career working in the theatre industry for over three decades. He served as Executive Producer to The Group Theatre Too, a theatre collective in NYC, for 15 years producing the award-winning musical, Count To Ten at The New York Musical Festival, the revival of Michael Bennett’s Seesaw, and the Pulitzer-Prize nominated play, Album by David Rimmer. Other credits include: The Choreographer’s Canvas at the 92nd Street Y, The World Goes Round at Circle in the Square, and Song and Dance Men at The Laurie Beechman Theatre. Justin is an award-winning director and choreographer with credits including Crazy For You (Berkshire Theatre Award), Hairspray (Lincoln Center Award), Errol and Fidel (NYMF Award), Gypsy of the Year, and the Off-Broadway musical One Night With Fanny Brice.
