  • Season 4 Episode 9 // Those Who Look to Him - Psalm 119

    08/07/2020 Duration: 32min

This week we will take a climb up to the top of the cultural landscape we find ourselves in, with the challenge of somehow seeing the goodness of God in it all. Yes, we will remember together that even in affliction and adversity, God’s goodness can be found in astounding and transformational ways! We will be in Psalm 119:65-72 where the singer belts out, “Good for me that I was afflicted, that I might learn your statues.” We’ll ask ourselves, yet again in this beautiful text, “Do I understand it? Can I feel it? Am I willing to sing it?” I’ll talk to you soon!- ChristySupport the show (https://www.patreon.com/christynockels)

  • Season 4 Episode 7 // Those Who Look to Him - Psalm 119

    11/06/2020 Duration: 01h03min

In the heaviness of this moment in history may we never be the same....may real and lasting change finally happen in our country and our world but most important, in our hearts. Yet for lasting change, we must ultimately look to God. We must work to mend this, but we can’t do this without the Mender. Today, the lovely Sara Hagerty and I will come around the theme of adoration, which can look like us looking to God—right in the middle of the heaviness—and even in the middle minutes of our day in a way that redirects our hearts and postures us to live from Him again. • Season 4 Episode 6 // Those Who Look to Him - Psalm 119

    27/05/2020 Duration: 39min

New Podcast Today!! Have you ever considered that the way you walk with the Lord will be remembered? It’s quite a beautiful and life changing thought, that our ordinary can be an offering…our little minutes of each day, even a legacy! Lamentations 3:22 says, “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end.” It’s beautiful to think how our own affections being stirred for the Lord could impact our children’s children and their affections for Him being stirred! God’s love goes on and on regardless, but in His mercy, He allows His love to also go on and on through us! I’ll talk to you soon!-ChristySupport the show (https://www.patreon.com/christynockels)

  • Season 4 Episode 5 // Those Who Look to Him - Psalm 119

    08/05/2020 Duration: 36min

I’m amazed! Even in just five episodes, I feel like I have grown leaps and bounds and THIS is the promise of God’s living and active Word, it never returns void! He Himself said, “You have seen well, for I am watching over my word to perform it.” (Jer 1:12) I’ll admit, I was a bit intimidated of this Psalm at first, but as we’ve been willing to ask God together—to come and show us His insight and give us His wisdom—I stand amazed that He’s given us something NEW each time! So, it follows that this episode is no exception - He promises MORE of who He is as we remember together that it is most of the battle AND the victory to simply keep asking, seeking and knocking that He might keep revealing to us His Way—the only way that gives true LIFE! • Bonus - Salvation & Sabbath // Part 2

    29/04/2020 Duration: 41min

Friends! I so hope that you enjoy Part Two of Salvation & Sabbath! This episode we will remember the precious gift that God gave us in the Sabbath. He Himself rested on the 7th day of Creation, helping us to set a pace for our lives that He knew would be for our blessing! As we’ve been discovering together, God’s commandments were a part of His Covenant love for us and they were always meant to be a blessing and not a burden! May we all take every last moment of this global pause to learn a NEW pace that we might emerge in, one that both honors the Lord and restores to us the joy of learning to ENJOY God!-ChristySupport the show (https://www.patreon.com/christynockels)

  • Season 4 - Episode 4 // Those Who Look to Him - Psalm 119

    22/04/2020 Duration: 47min

I have to say that God moved my heart in a really sweet way in the making of this episode, so much that it surprised me! Today we’ll talk about what it looks like to hold both sides of the tension of “clinging to the dust and clinging to the testimonies of God” all at the same time! Thankfully, the singer of Psalm 119 set a beautiful tone for us, that we are able to be honest with God, opening up before Him everyday about where we truly are! The power of the Gospel is that we don’t have to have it all together! Living the Christian life is not about mustering up the strength to stand on our own two feet, it’s all about getting to rest in and fall on Jesus! This was a timely word for me and I hope God uses it to meet you right where you are today! I’ll talk to you soon! Also, if you would like to join me in learning to play the piano in the rooted music online class, I would love to have you. https://bit.ly/rootedchristy. • Season 4 - Episode 2 // Those Who Look to Him - Psalm 119

    25/03/2020 Duration: 44min

Hey all you Beautiful People! It’s my honor to get to connect with you in this way, in these days! We are coming around Psalm 119 together in this season of The Glorious in the Mundane podcast. This Psalm is reminding me of Hebrews 5:14, “But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.” This isn’t a light-hearted Psalm, but I believe in these days we are living in, it’s solid food that we can sink our teeth into! Hiding God’s Word in our heart is what keeps us walking in the way of the Lord! May we be steadfast in what we are allowing into our heart so that truth can rise from our lips for such a time as this! We're Back! I’m so incredibly excited to kick off a brand new season of The Glorious in the Mundane podcast in a brand new year! We are going to be walking through Psalm 119 together, the most elaborate of all the acrostic Psalms in the Bible! This beautiful (but kind of baffling) Psalm will not only walk us through the treasure that is the Hebrew ”Aleph-bet” but will also show us the invitation of God’s precepts, commands and even His “rules”! My hope is that you’re surprised all over again at the intentionality of our God, who longs to walk with His people! I’ll talk to you soon!Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/christynockels)

We’ll be talking about the “inheritance” the Lord bestows upon the Beloved - which is each other. As we journey together in community, there is real treasure in praying without ceasing for one another. We need each other! We’ll also lay some ground work on praying in this way. How do we pray without ceasing? How does the foundation of our prayers shift when we have the attributes of God on our hearts and lips? Excited to jump back in with you all as we continue to study prayer together! I’ll talk to you soon!Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/christynockels)

  • Episode 64 - Prayers of the Beloved

    23/10/2019 Duration: 46min

Today is Part One of the “Prayers of the Beloved” that still settles well inside of our overall theme this Fall of enduring in a withering world! We’ve been building on the foundation of drawing near to the One who endures forever and I’d love for us to come around what it looks like to communicate in both awe and intimacy, with the Lord. We will talk about the boldness of the Beloved, that our confidence in His presence is built out from our identity as His children! Part One will lay a foundation for us in what it looks like to marry the head and the heart in prayer as well as experience the wonder and the “with-ness” (I just made that word up!) of our Father! We will explore what it looks like to “pray without ceasing” - maybe it’s a little more practical for our mundane than we’d expect! Grateful to dive in and LEARN more about prayer along with you! • Episode 63 - The Message in the Middle

    02/10/2019 Duration: 01h12s

HAPPY FALL Y’ALL! Let’s just hope that some FALL TEMPERATURES will come so that it might feel real! Today we are going to talk about appointed times and seasons and why it’s good for us to pay attention to these things in order to be intentional with beholding Who God is and becoming who He has made us to be! And, to endure in a withering world, may we have hearts that continually RETURN to the Lord in repentance! I’m SO excited to welcome back my dear friend Rebekah Lyons to the podcast as we celebrate her new book Rhythms of Renewal: Trading Stress and Anxiety for a Life of Peace and Purpose! It’s always sweet to sit down with Rebekah and reflect together! After watching her truly live these rhythms, it’s so fun to see how God is using her to help others enter into the REST that God offers us! I hope this episode is truly a BLESSING to you as you begin a brand new month! I’ll talk to you soon! - ChristySupport the show (https://www.patreon.com/christynockels)

  • Episode 62 - The Message in the Middle

    18/09/2019 Duration: 58min

I’m so loving this “message in the middle” to ENDURE as the people of God! Thankfully, it’s not a checklist because no one needs another one of those! Today we will remember that it flows out from drawing near to the One who endures forever, and cultivates in us a “beholding” heart! A heart that daily confesses, “Jesus, You are the Christ”,  beholding Him for Who He truly is! And wouldn’t you know it...we BECOME what we behold! Gathering around this very truth with me is the beautiful Ruth Simons! Her new book “Beholding and Becoming: The Art of Everyday Worship” is absolutely gorgeous and is available everywhere today! I’m confident that you are so going to enjoy hearing from Ruth’s heart! I’ll talk to you soon!-ChristySupport the show

  • Episode 61 - The Message in the Middle

    04/09/2019 Duration: 01h28s

I’m so excited to be back for some special episodes this Fall! The Lord gave me this theme, “The Message in the Middle” and it started as something personal but then I realized that it’s really for all of us! If you’re anything like me, you might be trying to figure out - right about now - what it looks like to live purposely and intentionally inside of this withering world around us. What does it look like to remain faithful in the middle of it all? Here between the now and the not yet. Our spiritual reality is that we are in the middle of a war! What does it look like for us to steadily stand in the middle of it all? I’m realizing more and more that it is not only good, but vital, that we remind each other to stand firm, to remain, to stay…to last! But how do we do that? Listen in as we huddle up and remember how to draw near to the only One who lasts forever! You will also get to hear from my brother Eric Hill and his beautiful wife, Kristin (Amaryllis Kristin!) from @withyouministries as they talk about t

  • Season 3 Ep 60 - Taste and See with Margaret Feinberg

    22/05/2019 Duration: 01h09min

It’s so sweet to be back with you on The Glorious in the Mundane podcast today! Today’s episode is called “Taste and See” as a part of our “Come Magnify the Lord with Me” series. I love this thought of magnifying the Lord together over the bounty of food. I know that food can be a touchy subject and isn’t it just like the enemy to make it a “thing” because all in all, God MADE IT A THING! It’s HIS THING and it’s FOR US in a big and beautiful way. Enjoy a conversation today with the brilliant, Margaret Freiburg as she takes us on a journey of savoring Christ through tasting and seeing that He is good and He is ENOUGH. I pray that today’s episode encourages you to stop and savor, to perceive and respond, to TASTE and SEE that God is abundant and He’s inviting you to LIVE from all that He is!Support the show

  • Season 3 Ep 59 - Eyes Up, Palms Up

    10/04/2019 Duration: 40min

Today I decided to expound on my  post on Instagram about “juggling” and can I just say, how much do you love that God can speak to us through juggling? Like actual juggling. He is amazing! As we continue our series called Come Magnify the Lord with Me, we will talk about what it looks like to keep our eyes lifted above what we’re juggling - all the things we’re carrying and trying to hold together - and instead, fix them on the Lord and His steadfast love over us. We’ll discuss the rhythm we can find in surrendering day to day, eyes up/palms up as we trust this God who holds us all together!Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/christynockels)

  • Season 3 Ep 58 - When Our Worries Turn To Worship

    27/03/2019 Duration: 44min

Today we’ll remember once again what lessons we can take with us from Winter as we allow ourselves to HOPE for what Spring will bring! There’s something beautiful about giving ourselves permission to let HOPE rise up in our hearts because eventually, that HOPE begins to seep out on others! As we continue our series called, “Come Magnify the Lord With Me” we will acknowledge that we do have an enemy who loves to keep us isolated and silenced as he stirs the pot with our worries and fears. However, when we choose to turn our worries into worship, doors open, chains fall and we are blessed by getting to BLESS God in the midst of uncertainty! I will talk to you soon!Support the show

  • Season 3 Ep 57 - I Lift My Hands to You

    13/03/2019 Duration: 41min

I’m so loving this theme, “Come Magnify the Lord With Me” as it’s reminding me that we are all MADE to worship. There’s something in us, deep down, that craves connection with God. It’s natural that we all desire the blessing of God on us and we even deeply need ministry from Him, we are human! Do I believe God blesses us and ministers to us? YES! But, there’s also something that we offer in worship that’s unique to WHO we are and that blesses and ministers to God in the most beautiful way! I was telling a friend of mine this week about the first time that I ever lifted my hands in worship. As I was talking about it, I realized that I lifted my hands to Him during a season of my life where He was bringing true restoration to some very broken things that my family had experienced. I was only 17. But I realized that lifting my hands in the moment was a very appropriate response, the more my friend and I talked about it. It was a present response, and we’ll even talk about this episode, that it was a biblical re
