  • Season 2 Ep 29 - River of Grace

    11/10/2017 Duration: 01h10min

Be Held - available wherever you listen to music!http://bit.ly/beheldalbumFirst of all, THANK YOU SO MUCH for all of your prayers and comments about our Annie Rose! We are so grateful to have had such a covering! She is doing amazing, back to being her sweet and spunky self, which feels miraculous to us, truly!! This podcast was recorded before all of that happened, so I just wanted to come around it here and thank you all again for going into battle for us! Today you'll hear the story behind the song, River of Grace, which started with me having a conversation with Annie Rose earlier this year... We'll delve into how surrender (though not easy) is really an invitation to rest at the riverside. When we cast our every care in that "river" we come back clean and free, so true and alive. • Season 2 Ep 28 - Peace! Be Still

    27/09/2017 Duration: 01h57s

It’s such an exciting week for me as it’s RECORD RELEASE WEEK! Today you’ll hear more about the heart cry of this record, Be Held, Lullabies for the Beloved, releasing this Friday. You’ll hear about the scripture that has been imbedded into it, as well as hear the song, “In The Whisper”, which was the first full song that I wrote for this record seven months ago. The chorus says, “So let the thunder roll and I won’t be afraid ‘cause You roll the thunder and let the rain beat hard upon my roof and I’ll dance to it’s rhythm and let the mighty wind blow between the oak trees, as I let You steady me…cause You’re right here in the whisper, of my heart.” We’ll study life’s storms a little bit today, how even right in the middle of the most turbulent times of our lives we can invite the Master of the storm to say, “Peace! Be Still”, to every beat of our heart. We can also invite Him to usher in a “good work” right inside of the storm, one that we can pray falls on good soil in our hearts. Hope you’ll join us! I’ll t

  • Season 2 Ep 27 - His Banner Over Me

    06/09/2017 Duration: 01h58s

Today we'll talk about how God can take even the smallest stirrings of our hearts and when we are faithful to sit with Him and listen and cultivate those stirrings, they can become a beautiful offering of His Kingdom coming to earth through us - displaying our "belovedness" to the world around us! Hear how the stirrings of my own life this past year have come together as an offering called "Be Held, Lullabies for the Beloved" and even hear the opening track called "His Banner Over Me is Love" - Enjoy!Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/christynockels)

  • Season 2 Ep 25 - Build My Life

    15/08/2017 Duration: 56min

Hello all you beautiful people and welcome to The Glorious in the Mundane podcast - season 2! I couldn’t be more thrilled to be back with you as we have some beautiful “stirrings” to share as this season unfolds! Today will be a moment for us to reflect on the wonder of summer and the posture it brings and how we can intentionally carry that wonder and that posture with us as we walk into all that the Autumn brings. We’ll also dive deep into what it looks like, in the same way, to look back on our lives at the “wonder” threaded through - the ways that God has been calling to our hearts even since we were kids - and bring it back to the surface in our hearts…to look through it like a lens so we can see beyond the to-do list today, right into the glorious things that God wants us to see about Himself and even ourselves. You’ll also get to hear a sneak peak of the song I’ll be releasing THIS FRIDAY called BUILD MY LIFE! I’ll share around how I’ve been praying and living it like a prayer lately. My hope is that i

  • GITM #24 Kay Warren

    11/05/2017 Duration: 01h12min

Hello all you Beautiful People! Welcome to The Glorious in the Mundane podcast. I'm so happy to be dropping an episode in the merry month of May! It's great to connect with you, I've missed it! If you listened to my last podcast where I told you I'd be pausing for awhile because something was stirring in me...today you'll get to hear how sometimes we get hit by what feels like a freight train right after we announce that something is stirring in us! All in all it can only mean that the Lord doesn't mind, in fact, He seems to prefer us in a place of utter dependency on Him as something begins to stir. In order to create, to move forward, to grow....like the Peonies that finally appeared in my flower bed just in time for Mother's Day week...I've learned that our frailty attracts His majesty. It's an invitation for Him to come in and BE ALL to us and through us. Today you'll get to hear the lovely Kay Warren talk about that very frailty...but what a sacred privil

  • GITM #23 Small Stirrings

    29/03/2017 Duration: 42min

Welcome to The Glorious in the Mundane Podcast! I’m so excited to drop a little March episode on you to say “Happy Spring” to all of you! My family and I have been on Spring Break together in Southern California and what a beautiful beginning to Spring it has been! Today is a “Mini Me” episode updating you on where we’ve been and where we’re headed with the podcast and for those of you who have listened from the beginning, some more “bullseye” talk as we are reminded that small stirrings and starts are important and vital and that Jesus can work (in abundance) through what little we think we have today…as long as we are diligent to offer it to Him! I pray that you’re deeply encouraged today as you listen, that God knows right where you are, He sees you and loves you! I’ll talk to you soon! #thegloriousinthemudaneSupport the show (https://www.patreon.com/christynockels)

  • GITM #22 Broken and Free

    15/02/2017 Duration: 47min

Hello all you beautiful people and welcome to the glorious in the mundane podcast! This is my first episode back for 2017 and I'll admit, it just took me a minute to get back in the flow. In fact, in this episode I just invite you into my process of sort of putting one foot in front of the other to even deliver this podcast today! I think sometimes we just forget what we are capable of and we end up keeping the creative process at bay or even just things we need to get done. I hope it encourages you right where you are that you have what it takes! Then, eavesdrop on a little "huddle" that happened at IF Gathering a few weeks ago about the #brokenandfreetour that @annvoskamp and @rebekahlyons are embarking on next week! We hope to see you there! www.brokenandfreetour.comSupport the show (https://www.patreon.com/christynockels)

  • GITM #20 Chris Tomlin

    08/12/2016 Duration: 01h13min

Welcome to the Glorious in the Mundane Podcast! Today I’m going to share around what it has been like to get to share some of these songs from The Thrill of Hope, live! I’ve been teary eyed as I’ve shared the stories and the songs and it has been equally as meaningful to get to speak to some of you out on the road after the concerts - of what these songs have meant to you! And…our special guest today is the one and only Chris Tomlin! Chris and I have been friends for 20 years now and so much life has happened in those years and its just fun for us to sit and reminisce! We’ll talk about what married life is like now for Chris and of course him becoming a father of two in the past 5 years. It has been a beautiful whirlwind to watch, let me tell you! I hope you enjoy hearing from someone whose songs have probably graced your car or your daily jog and got you communicating to a living God who loves you! • GITM #19 Ann Voskamp

    17/11/2016 Duration: 56min

Welcome to the Glorious in the Mundane podcast! Today I am so excited to be sitting down with the lovely Ann Voskamp! I caught Ann while she was in town on her book release tour a few weeks ago while she was staying with our mutual friend Rebekah Lyons. I love this podcast because it was SO last minute, so off the cuff and REALLY late at night. We did actually have to edit out quite a bit of laughter because at one point we got a little bit delirious! I loved asking Ann what life was like BEFORE her first book…what was an everyday life like on the farm before there were things like book tours in her life! We also of course get into a little bit about her new book called The Broken Way, which I fell in love with the title RIGHT away! I love Ann’s poetic style of LIFE in general but also how raw she is and transparent. It’s really beautiful. Also, you’ll get to hear our special announcement at the end of the podcast, so don’t miss it! Thank you for tuning in today!Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/chris

  • GITM # 18 Matt Redman

    09/11/2016 Duration: 55min

Welcome to the Glorious in the mundane podcast! Today I am so excited to share an interview with my friend and fellow songwriter Matt Redman. Nathan and I have been friends with Matt for about 16 years now and have been continually inspired and challenged by Matt’s leading and songwriting through the years. Known for songs like “Blessed Be Your Name” “Better is One Day” and of course “10,000 reasons.” Matt’s gifts have been just that - a gift to the Church and to homes around the nations as His songs help us say what we long and desire to say to our Savior. Nathan and I have been privileged through the years to get to travel with Matt and his band quite a bit and I always take note and learn from Matt’s leading. He truly understands the importance of leading God’s people in worship and I’ve never seen Him take it lightly, even when he’s tired from all his international flying, He always takes a moment to lead us as a team in prayer and reflection before we go out and lead the masses together. I so appreciate

    12/10/2016 Duration: 30min

Welcome to The Glorious in the Mundane Podcast! Today we’re going to talk about the great lengths that our Father will go to to pull us back close to Himself. We might wander but He doesn’t let us wander for long before He sends us life-lines… I can’t even tell you how true Proverbs 16:9 has been these past few weeks, well, years actually... “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord directs their steps.” Even just this past week, we have had more plans unravel than I was prepared for! It took a lot of work sifting through the changes but In the end though, we ended up right where we needed to be. Like right now, I was supposed to be somewhere else even in this very moment and my plans unraveled to the degree that I’m now sitting on my front porch in a rocking chair enjoying the most gorgeous Fall weather I’ve seen this year. It’s just the best, unexpected surprise. I hope that today you’re reminded that your Father will do what it takes to lead you back to Himself. I’m sure He grins at our plans

Hello and welcome to The Glorious in the Mundane! Today you’re going to experience what I have affectionally been calling a “Mini Me” - that means today is a shorter episode and it’s just me! As I shared on the episode a few weeks ago, this is kind of my book at this point in my life! I have stories that I’d love to to share from life, marriage, motherhood, ministry and I figure, why not?
