CGP Ep255 High Triplexity Training
11/09/2018 Duration: 39minHigh Triplexity is a term I came up with to describe the style of training that I use to help my athletes perform at their maximal potential. I use to use the term High Threshold but the concept has evolved and become something much broader than a simple transition from Corrective Exercises to Strength and Power. The basic premise is that you can improve an athletes speed, movement efficiency and power outputs without using resistance. I use to take my athletes through a strength prep phase that was, as the name implies, a training period designed to prepare the body for the strength training in the next phase. What I was unaware of at the time was that my athletes were accomplishing the speed and power gains that they initially set forth to acquire before they even reached the strength phase. How is this possible? Be it the transition from high school to college, college to your career, single life to married life, or newlyweds to parents. The most important thing you can do when you pass through one of these doorways is to close the door behind you! If your married you can’t leave the door open behind you into the single life. When you enter the working world you need to close the door on the college frat life. I have seen far too many people fail to close the door behind them and the ramifications can be disastrous. To truly be present in the room or stage of life you have entered you need to have closure on the the past. 15/08/2018 Duration: 40minIntention is EVERYTHING! It sets the tone for your day, your workout, your nutritional choices, your sleep, your relationships and your business. Many of you don’t set intentions and let the day dictate your intentions for you! When you start a training session do you set an intention? "Yeah I want to lose 5lbs!" Thats a goal not an intention. An intention is I want to control my respirations throughout the session and be present during each rep. If this was your goal you would fail. Goals are black and white. Were you present for every exercises? "No, I was thinking about work for the last circuit.” Then yo failed at your goal! Was your intention for the session met? Yes! If you are willing to open yourself up to failure and loss you are living. The opposite side of the coin is never showing vulnerability and living in a false world of impenetrable control. I always say that true learning can only occur when you are at the brink of failure. You never learn from playing it safe and driving the speed limit. Sometimes you need to let the back end slide out so you can learn how to steer into the slide and correct your course. The other camp says train in vulnerable positions so the athlete can handle it when they get stuck in those positions in their sport. Which camp do I pitch my tent in?
